On 28th April 2008, Chinese security forces fired upon a nomadic hamlet in the township of Ponkor Toema after tracking down protestors who replaced a Chinese national flag with a Tibetan flag. A 22 year-old monk was shot dead during the raid. His body, taken by guards, was denied funeral rites. |
