B · R · E · A · T · H stories of love loss redemption
B · R · E · A · T · H explores stories of personal loss and suppression surrounding the March 16, 2008 crackdown at Amdo Ngaba, Sichuan Province during the recent Tibetan uprising for political independence. The exhibition addresses such themes as the triumph of human spirit, the determination for personal dignity and cultural autonomy, and highlights concerns about the violation of human rights and free speech.
Included in the show are works previously selected for Personally Political - Contemporary Sensation, Art House Tacheles, Berlin, Germany (2009), the 2009 Phoenix Prize for Spiritual Art, SoFA Gallery, Australian National University, Canberra and the 57th Touring Blake Prize exhibition (2009).
